About Youth & Family Services

Youth and Family Services is part of the Human Services' Division of the City of Scottsdale. We provide court ordered screenings, court ordered education, education referrals and social services. We are currently licensed by the state of Arizona to provide a 16 hour DUI educational program. Our license number with the state of Arizona is CSLG8368. If you require a program that is greater than 16 hours, please contact us and we can refer you to a licensed agency that can meet your needs.

About 16-Hour Alcohol Drug & DUI Program

COST - $160

Payment in full is required before accessing the course. Partial payments or payment plans will not be accepted. All major Credit/Debit cards are accepted by phone. REFUNDS

Refunds are not available. You will be registered for the course immediately after payment is received and no refunds can be given after access to the course has been granted.

THE COURSE

The course is divided into 16 online modules. It is self-paced and available to you 24/7.  Once Enrolled, you will have 8 weeks to complete the course.

CORE CONTENT COVERED

  • The physiological, psychological and sociological effects of alcohol and drug use
  • Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC), how it is measured and its effects on an individual's functioning
  • Alcohol & drug use effect on one's ability to operate a vehicle
  • Criminal penalties and statutory requirements for DUI sentencing
  • Alternatives to operating a motor vehicle while impaired
  • The stages of substance use and stages of change
  • Approaches and types of substance abuse treatment including individual, group and self-help
  • Self-Assessment
  • Healthy coping and alternatives to alcohol or drug use
  • Local and national resources


WHAT TO EXPECT

  • This course is interactive and requires your full engagement and focus.
  • We recommend sitting in a quiet, comfortable space with limited distractions.
  • Each module contains full audio voice over for your convenience.
  • We recommend using headphones for your privacy if you are in a shared space with other people
  • While this course can be accessed through a tablet or smart phone, we strongly recommend that it be completed using a computer for optimal experience and ease of use.
  • This course has 16 modules that must be completed in order. Once you complete a module, the next module will immediately become available to access at your convenience.
  • The course must be completed within 8 weeks once you have been registered.


CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

At the end of the course you will be asked to complete a 20 question Post-Test. You can take the post-test as many times as you need to pass the course. A score of 70% is required to pass. Once you pass the Post-Test, your completion certificate will  be available to you immediately. A copy of your certificate will also be sent to the court on your behalf by Youth & Family Services. Please allow up to 72 hours for this certificate to be sent to the court.
